Thunderbird is removing e-mails over 2 weeks old
I've adjusted preferences so it doesn't delete ANY e-mails, no matter how old, and I've tried restarting and "repairing" my inbox. I can search for a specific term and it will bring up older messages, but they do not show up chronologically in my inbox any older than two weeks old. I've looked high and low for an e-mail for mozilla customer support and only keep getting re-directed to the forum which is infuriating. If someone can help I'd be incredibly grateful.

I went down the list and it still hasn't resolved the issue. I have two accounts under Thunderbird, my personal one is fine but my laboratory one is the one having the problem. There should be well over a thousand e-mails in the inbox and there's only 35. Any other suggestions?
My guess is your account is IMAP and your laboratory have automatic archiving or deletion of mail set to 2 weeks. But I would have thought that would have been in the article you were previously linked to.
When you use IMAP, settings in Thunderbird are over ridden by the settings of the mail server.

How do I check the mail server settings? I'm not completely illiterate when it comes to computers but I'm definitely not an expert. Funny thing is, my coworker has access to the laboratory e-mail and she has well over two thousand messages in the inbox. I'll search for a specific e-mail from over a month ago on mine and cannot find it, whereas it'll be in her e-mail. It's quite frustrating so I appreciate any help!!
You'll need to login to your account via webmail. If you have any further questions you should contact your email provider or your IT folks.
