The advertising virus leaked into the synchronization cloud.
The virus redirects search requests to other search services, opens tabs with redirection to advertising when you click on any page location. Rechecked many times, the virus only works in Firefox, only when synchronized. The question is not even how to return the bookmarks or something, but where can this virus be located? Somewhere in the AppData (Win10) I think. It would be cool if you learned to check the synchronization data for such viruses.

Not Mozilla's obligation to keep one's computer clean of Malware. Support Volunteers have nothing to do with this. No idea if do or don not also. Yes Virus/Malware can repopulate in various ways.
