Twitter direct messages infinite loop

For all my twitter accounts, any time i receive a new direct message, it will be received again and again, triggerring a new notification every single time, every 5 seconds or so.

Same is true for subscribers notifications in the main "home" twitter thread view, except it makes no sound so not as much annoying.
