An error occurred with the pop3 mail server. Ther mail server responded "blank"..

Can someone please help. Thunderbird was working fine. The next moment I cannot receive any incoming mail and a popup displays ... An error occurred with the pop3 mail server. Ther mail server responded "blank".. I did notchange any settings but did check that servers are still correct. I cannot download any incoming mail on any of my emails accounts. (various pop3 servers) Outgoing mail still sends fine.

According to some info : http://kb.mozillazine.org/Connection_errors_-_POP3 Under 'Connecting' section An error occurred with the POP3 mail server. Mail server server name responded: message (Where message might be blank.)

  • You specified the wrong server. The server you specified exists, but it is not a POP3 server.
  • You specified the wrong port number. Ask whomever runs the POP3 server what the correct port number is.
  • The server is down. This is usually temporary. If it persists, contact whoever administers the server.

Please post info:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information
  • DO NOT select checkbox 'include account names'
  • click on 'Copy text to clipboard' button
  • In this forum question, right click in a 'Post a Reply' text box and select 'Paste.
  • you can remove all info on fonts and printer as this is not required. but do not alter anything else.
