Thunderbird on Chromebook Linux

Hi There,

I recently switched to Chromebook(Chrome OS). Since you can run Linux on the CB now I decided to keep my Thunderbird for the mail. It runs perfectly but problem I face now is how to intergrate the file system. If I want to add an attachment to an Email I first have to copy the file to the Linux File system and only then I can attach it to the mail.

Is there another way?

And one extra issue regarding the above.

When I try to add a file I get a sort of Filemanager but I am not able to navigate in that screen. See attatchment
