Tried to fix Firefox crashes, lost all my bookmarks + FF app support folder
I tried to create a new user profile to solve the Ugh! Firefox has crashed problem. Now my Firefox application support file has disappeared! And I appear to have lost all my bookmarks. I tried to restore from Time machine. Didn't work.

When a crash report is submitted, the current time/date is used, not the time/date the crash happened. The crash report itself contains the true time/date the crash happened. In my posting above, I displayed that information.
Some of the reports in your last post are the latest crashes.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
Do Not remove any profile folders.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Hi Fred - OK I got through the clean install and opened Firefox 64. 0.2. All is well so far. I had to choose a language (Canadian English), as the "all languages and systems" option wasn't there. It asked if I wanted to replace a newer version with an older version (?), so I did. Finally, I don't have a registry on my Mac. Someone online suggests cleaning the cache, but I declined. So far so good - I'll submit up to date crash reports if the problem isn't solved. Thanks.
Seemed better for awhile - but another crash this morning:

According to bug report 500105, this affects all platforms. I called for more help.
Thanks for your help, Fred. I'll stay tuned. All platforms? So I guess switching to Safari or Chrome wouldn't improve the situation? If Firefox keeps crashing, I may just move my bookmarks over to Safari. Can't be any worse.
Open the Bookmarks Manager; Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the toolbar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> B.
Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer/profile. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recover-lost-or-missing-bookmarks
So this is if I want to move my bookmarks to Safari? Thanks. I'll stick with Firefox for a few more days to see if the crash problem is fixed.
