Just 2 add-ons for Thunderbird 68? (Add-ons availability)

After I have manually added Thunderbird 68 (Ubuntu 18.04.3, 64-bit) I realized there are only two extensions I can use: Lightning and Enigmail.

The official add-on site for Thunderbird doesn't contain compatibility option for 68. Just curious, shall I from now on to do without certain useful features (examples: remove duplicate messages, custom IMAP folders order).

It's very sad to see the addons site that knows nothing of version 68. As if no one is aware of its release.

You can view the list of add-ons that are compatible with TB 68 here. The list will (may?) change as 68 is deployed and more users request updates for their favourite add-ons.

@Wayne Mary Wayne Mery Yes, the addons site opens now normally. The "User-Agent" field is empty (no, I didn't erase it intentionally).

konstantin2,

Any add-ons still not working for you? And if so, which ones?

OK, 2 months passed, and certain extensions begain to become compatible again (Im at version 68.2.1)

Also (without intervention on my side) the User-Agent is now

"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/68.2.1"

and I managed to install "Remove Duplicate Message (Alternate)".

So the answer to my initial issue is "Find anything similar or just wait, perhaps the extension author will make it compatible".

Thanks.

After you install Emoji and restart TB, select View/Emoji or click the Emoji icon to open the sidebar (see picture). Tested and working in TB 68.2.1/Emoji 1.68.1.

We just went through this nonsense a few months ago when we had to upgrade from 52 to 60, and yet here we are again.

Hi everyone, I wanted to follow up on this topic because something very strange has happened.

I had tried to use the config editor and usually I have not had any issues with this but on this occasion while trying to adjust the ayout.css.devPixelsPerPx setting I accidentally added a zero when entering the value (!) This broke my Thunderbird completely because even though I tried to minimise the window etc I could not manage to see anything clearly enough to go back and correct my mistake.

Fast forward, I uninstalled Thunderbird and then deleted all files and reinstalled it again from scratch using the 60.8 version. I turned off automatic updates - BUT within about 10 minutes while I was setting up my mail accounts it somehow still updated to version 68.

Now the weird part! Somehow - my TT dark theme is fully working on this version! Calendars and all! I would love to take credit but I can't. so if anyone wants me to show any specific config code or if there is any way that I can help anyone else get set up with a fully functional dark theme on version 68 (!!) Let me know!

On this occasion - thank you to the computer gremlins and the ghosts in the machine!
