Some time ago Google Chrome added a new flag which allows to hide the https:// and subdomains called: Omnibox UI Reveal Steady-State URL Path, Query, and Ref On Hover

When you hover over the address bar the full domain is shown

Mozilla is planning to add an option like that to firefox?

Is there any add-on that does this?
