When I try to download a file I get the message in the download progress "canceled" - Company name.com - time This happens with .pdf files and .exe files. I'm not sure about other files as I haven't tried them yet. Why won't these files download? Windows 10, 64 bit system.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a download manager.
This download manager works separately from the browser.
The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.
