I've noticed I've had a number of new Firefox updates recently. I've also noticed it takes much longer to load my initial web site when I log into Firefox. That web site is my head page, MSN. It now takes much longer to load that site than before. Is it possible these updates have caused the problem? How can I see what is causing the lengthy wait time for my head page to appear. It takes much longer than it used to. Appreciate input into the issue. Thank you.

I have no issue with the site in Win7. Log into another user account and try it. Try it in safe mode, clear your browser cache and dns cache.

Clear DNS cache:

Click on the Start button and type cmd.
  Open the command prompt.
Enter the following command in the prompt: ipconfig/flushdns.

Who are you using for DNS? https://www.grc.com/dns/benchmark.htm

You can also try another version of Firefox to see if it makes a difference. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/#product-desktop-release

Hi, jonzn. Thank you for your reply. I cleared my cache first, it it appeared to help. I then started Firefox in safe mode and the slow loading of my home page seemed to disappear also when I tied that feature. But, I will reserve whether the problem is fixed for sure when I start my computer in the morning and load my home page, jonzn. But, so far so good. Thank you, jonzn for your help. I will get back with you tomorrow. Thanks again.

jonzn, When I started my browsing this morning and loaded my home page, the problem went away. My home page loaded normally. It appears clearing my cache was the fix and solved the problem. Thank you for your help. I have another question. I clear space on my disk from time to time as part of the maintenance I do. My question is, at what point should I NOT worry clearing the disk of junk? When I first initialize the feature, it shows how much space can be saved. Usually I just ignore that notice and just free up space on the disk. But, am I just wasting time if the space I save is not worth the effort? In other words, at what point should I not clear up space on my disk? It usually shows GB or KB I believe amount can be removed. Any suggestions, jonzn? Thank you.

With today's big drives I rarely worry about space. It's your world and you will have to decide on when to worry about space.  ;-))

When it comes to Firefox, I have it set to clear data when I close it.

jonzn, thanks for the reply. Just was wondering if I was over reacting to freeing up space on my disk. Also wondering if I was causing some trouble by freeing up space too often? That's why I asked the question, jonzn. Thank you.
