Hello,

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/epubreader/?utm_source=addons.mozilla.org&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=search

Installed on 90.0.2 (64-bit).

Works fine when opening an EPUB from the browser but if I double click on an EPUB file it opens multiple tabs & will not stop, has anyone else encountered this & been able to fix it?

Windows 10 Asus laptop, no issues with anythng else, am wondering if Windows 10 App settings could have anything to do with it but have not been able to find a way to disable default settings completely? Alternately is there something I can do via about:config on Firefox to alter this?

Ideally I don't want to have to uninstall Firefox completely in the hopes of seeing if a fresh install will stop this issue arising.

Thanks

Soluzione scelta

Note that you need to remove this action via "Settings -> General -> Applications"

If you can't find it here then rename/remove handlers.json in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Right, this is a known issue. Do not choose Firefox as a helper application to always open the file type, as this can cause a problem where Firefox repeatedly opens empty tabs or windows after you click on a link.

Any chance this can be fixed?

Thanks this worked, though it would be good to be able to open EPUB files by clicking them.

Firefox can't handle this file type internally because otherwise it wouldn't prompt you via the 'open with' dialog. You need to open such a file in an external application that can handle this file.

Ok, thanks.
