TB 91.2.1 Can't Send Mail

I'm an 87 year old, non techie, long time TB user and love the program.

After upgrading to v. 91.2.1 I can no longer send email whether I compose a new message or forward. I attempted a "Clean Install" by deleting the installation folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird and downloading Thunderbird from the Mozilla site. Still no luck --The Send button remains greyed out and cannot send email.

Searching for answers, I see that several others are experiencing a similar problem. Although I previously made a Full Macrium backup before updating to v. 90, I would prefer to keep up with the latest versions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

when you open your address book, is the personal address book empty when it should have contacts?

Thank you for your response. Although I received your response in TB 91.2.1, I cannot respond there since I cannot send emails from that program (obviously).

To answer your question: When I click on Tools>Address Book, an empty Address Book window opens which states that it only shows contacts after a search. None of the entries that have always appeared in my address book in previous versions of TB are visible.

However, if I attempt to send or forward a message, a column opens on the left of the window showing all my original address book entries. I can double click on as many as I wish and they appear in the header of the email ready to be forwarded or sent. Unfortunately, the SEND Button remains greyed out.

Sorry for the lengthy response, but I have attempted to indicate what I am dealing with. Thank you for any help you can offer.
