When Firefox downloaded the latest patches - 96.0 and 96.01 - my computer has stopped working properly. Websites won't load, everything freezes up, get error message "Not responding". I've tried a few things to fix it - virus scan, resetting systems to previous date before the updates, etc. Nothing has fixed this.

You need to show us what issues you are having. I can boot into Win7, so provide steps to replicate. What security software are you running? Have you tried Firefox in Safe Mode? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/diagnose-firefox-issues-using-troubleshoot-mode#w_how-to-start-firefox-in-4troubleshoot-modesf5safe-modesf
