Display contact "custom 1" field in columns
Is there a way to display the "custom 1" field as a column of the address list?

Are you using Thunderbird's built-in addressbook or an addressbook through an add-on (e.g. Cardbook)? As far as I know the built-in addressbook does not have a "custom1"-field.
