Hello, last Thunderbird update resetted my personalized colors.

Normal unified colors lists are not readable to me in black theme, I really need unread emails and folders with unread emails to appear in different colors (bold is not enoight) so i personalized to show them blue. Now last update resetted all and I'm not able to understand where to work to rehabilitate that setting.

In my profile folder profile-folder/chrome/userChrome.css the file seems to be already ok, but visuals are not coherent with it. In attached images i show how thunderbird looks now and userChrome.css file settings.

Any suggestion to change colors of unread emails in message list and folders list? Thx for helping!

Your userChrome won't work in 115, but almost everything in it can be made to work. Search this forum, reddit, forums.mozillazine.org, elevenforum.com etc. for examples.

Interesting forum, but ... no migration or clear / complete documentation available elsewhere? No css guide or list of parameters? No plugin to set colors or contrast?

The new interface in black just is not readable. Quite disappointing and promoting software migration indeed. It's a pity after 30 years.

Thx for trying helping.

For what it's worth, CSS modifications are not officially supported or documented. A lot of new code was developed for 115 and that affected some CSS settings. This 'feature' is supported only by users to each other. Like you, all of us who use CSS have had to rediscover the way to achieve what worked in prior versions.

Dear David, sure it is and thank-you for your answer! Not sure that rediscover an email software in 2023 is stimulating experience :-) This approach risks to produce old "new softwares problems" without gain. If the function is there I would suggest mozilla developers to close it or to implement it in a clear way. Quite annoying from my personal point of view, but I am one user of course.

I fully concur. Thunderbird developers are trying to please too many people. I think it would be better to close it off and offer some customization options, such as done by Postbox and TheBat. Features such as grid lines, zebra striping, highlight colors, etc., should be menu features, not CSS or config requirements.
