I am updating my post to that I'm now getting mail but cannot send. I have set it up to exactly the way I have my tablet set up using port 25 and SMTP server name as mobile-smtp.roadrunner.com. This is the response I'm getting.
Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) mobile-stmp.roadrunner.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.
There is no point trying arbitrary combinations of server settings. Check with your email provider what the correct settings are, and apply them as needed. It's their server after all, and only they know what's required.
