Anyone else having trouble logging into Chase's Web site?

I am not the one using Firefox for iOS; my sister is. I am not looking for an actual fix at this point, I just want to know if anyone else is having the problem.

My sister was having no problem logging into Chase with her 8th gen iPad until about a week ago (my apologies, I don't know the exact day). She tried to log in, and the Web site took her to the system requirements page.

The weird thing is, her system was fine according to their list. But she updated to the latest iOS (18-something) and then the latest Firefox for iOS 129.0.1 (she doesn't like .0 versions and always waits for .0.1).

She got the same error.

Chase insists that the problem is hers. Personally, I don't trust a corporation that big farther than I can throw their combined offices on the planet. Is anyone else getting this problem?

Again, I am not looking for a fix at the moment, just looking to find out if the problem really is in her set.

Thank you.

Sorry for the wait! I lost track of your thread before I could reply.

What you described is very weird. I'll research to see if anyone else is having sign in issues with Chase but everything you listed should be exactly what's needed to make Firefox up to date on iOS. A few years back, Chase and Bank of America (and sometimes a few other banks) had a reputation of making it harder to login to their sites if you use Firefox.

Over the years issues like this would pop up & get fixed eventually on the bank's side.

So far the only issue I'm seeing are people on Windows having a problem with Google searches not working on Firefox and it is driving us support helpers over here crazy trying to figure out what the cause is. I'm even suspecting something deliberate or accidental on Google's side. Much like you said about "I don't trust a corporation that big farther than I can throw their combined offices on the planet." ;)

Keep us updated on whether or not the Chase system requirements page goes away for her & I'll drop any updates I find here. If it keeps persisting, we might need to inform Chase's IT dept that they aren't correctly recognizing the latest version of Firefox iOS & to update their version checking script.

Side note: Just wanted to say, your sister is smart for avoiding brand new releases of any software really & waiting for the 0.1 version to drop. I've always done the same thing to avoid whatever unexpected breakage may happen & grab the 0.1 version which will usually have corrected it.

Also thank your sister for sticking with Firefox, we really appreciate it. We do seem to be getting hit randomly by all the major websites every now & then with some odd bug that gets blamed on us when sometimes its actually the site's fault itself. Examples below.

Google is the latest example of that, messing up Youtube videos for us & also breaking reCaptchas on many websites causing people to get stuck in a loop when trying to prove they're not a robot. Other than that, some of the big streaming companies like Netflix may change something on their side & cause Firefox users to see a error that doesn't explain what the failure is.

Thanks. Really. My sister is soooo frustrated with Chase, as am I. It was working one day, she made no changes, and it was broken the next. She updated completely (eventually), but it still doesn't work. It's nice to be able to tell her that someone believes her. Other than me, of course.

Even though Firefox is on Chase's support list, they really think "Use a different browser or the Chase app" is giving support!

I am sure the Google people are laughing up their sleeves about your support problem. I am old enough to remember the "Don't be evil" ads back at Google's beginning, and now they are far more so than Microsoft ever was.

Hey Khindall just wanted to check back on your sister and see if she's still having a problem logging into Chase? I really hope it resolved itself by now but if not I think I discovered something that could help: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/enhanced-tracking-protection-firefox-ios#w_turn-tracking-protection-off-for-specific-websites-only

That article talks about disabling Tracking Protection for specific websites. I'm thinking Chase might have added some tracking scripts to its site and just causes the site to go to the system requirements page rather than to tell you to disable your tracking protection.

If that still fails, maybe clearing site date for Chase.com and *.chase.com sites could help. It's a long shot but the steps are here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/clear-browsing-history-firefox-ios#w_clear-individual-site-data

I would just do the "Clear individual site data" option. If you do the "Clear Private Data" option, it will erase all website data and I don't think she wants that. Let me know if she was able to solve it either way. I'm still looking for any fix to this. :)

Btw you are right about Chase trying to solve all issues by pointing people to their app. They discontinued text banking (Oct 2023) in favor of the app so you can't do things like BAL to a SMS shortcode to quickly check your balance anymore. And they might have discontinued text alerts for certain actions. If they did, they probably want it to arrive on your phone as a app notification. So lots of things are moving to the app.

And you're right about what Google has become. If only we knew back then.

Sorry to take so long. I've sent the solution to my sister. We'll see what she says.

She does say she can log into virtually nothing anymore. I suggested turning off DNS over HTTPS, which was keeping me out of everything for a while, but she says that's not an available setting on the iOS version.

I miss the days when the user's convenience was paramount, not the corporation's. It's comforting to reflect that I am getting old and am in poor health, so hopefully I won't have to live in this world much longer.
