can't instal updates, prompt says game mode must be turned off, checked icon bottom right and status says turn game mode on, suggesting it is already turned off. Help!

when I run my vulnerabilities check, and scan now, I cannot also run the instal updates option. it keeps telling that updates cannot be installed with games mode on. I right clicked on the bit defender icon and there is an option to switch games mode ON, so seems it must be off????
