firefox updates hang on download when checking for viruses

When downloading the new version of Firefox it hangs up when checking for viruses. Once I am able to escape, it has always loaded the new version. This happens every time when updating Firefox. Everything else downloads fine. Using Norton. Running Windows vista home premium 64 bit.

I think you are correct. I also had trouble downloading a Windows update. They advised me to disable Norton Sec. long enough to finish the download and it worked fine then. Thank you, lige
