Why is it when I click the back button it has to perform a function it just did, like send a message in ebay

For example, when I am in ebay (but it is not just ebay) and I send a message to a buyer or seller, firefox pops a dialogue box when I click on the back button saying it needs to resend the message. This results in two messages being sent. It is very annoying.

Then don't use the Back button. Select the previous page from the "Recent Pages" drop-down to the right of the Back / Forward buttons.
