When I go to Compose Mail my old email address pops up on From line-how do I remove it.

When I go to send a email I have two addresses in the FROM box my gmail and my old e-mail account with RoadRunner. Sometimes it selects the Roadrunner address that doesn't exist anymore and that cause problems when people try to respond back and get a undeliverable message in reply. How can I remove the Roadrunner address. I have tried to just delete etc., but doesn't work. Thanks
