The question is the cruz of my problem. I received a notice of an update to firefox and I downloaded it and installed it. I restarted firefox and got the message "Firefox is offline". I went to your web page and downloaded firefox as if it were a new app for me. It replaced a newer version in App file. I installed it and when I restarted firefox I got the same message. Help John

You can manually set Firefox to work offline, but it may have set itself due to a network connection issue.

To manually change back to online mode, you can use

File > uncheck Work Offline

If the MacOS version does not have a File menu, maybe it's on the Firefox menu.

Does it work?

If this recurs, you can change a setting so that Firefox doesn't make its own decisions about going offline. This thread has more information: Firefox keeps switching to work offline mode all by itself and therefore drops internet connection. How do I fix this? | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help.
