system requirements current update too high
I would like to continue using Firefox, but my system will not allow the newest update. I have been looking for previous updates & even when it says that I can download that update, it automatically changes to an update my system won't allow.
Now what?

If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
- Firefox 6.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
- Uninstall your current Firefox version.
- Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
- It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
It is that my computer is about 7 years old & the new system requirements for the using the new version of Firefox is beyond what my computer will do. My system requirements are lower than required for the new version of Firefox.
When I look for a later version than the 3. something that I have, and try to get a download for a Firefox 4. or a later 3., I can't. Even when I read the requirements & they will still fit my system, when I hit download, it tells me it is going to download the latest version that my system won't handle.
Again, I realize my computer is outdated, but until I can get another one, I still need to use this one, and I would like to continue to use Firefox since it is very good & I like its features.
I apologize for not making myself clear on what the actual problem was. Thanks!
Some programs like Adobe flash, etc. keep backlogs of previous versions. I can go through the backlogs of the versions & pick what my system will handle. That is what I was looking for with Firefox, but I don't seem to find it. When I do get the system requirements list, and then try to download, then it automatically kicks me over to a different download than what is listed that I am trying to download.
