You can set downloads to always go to one folder or to ask you each time.
- Options > General > Downloads section
- "Save files to:" and choose a folder (always saves to that folder) {this is the Firefox default setting; you can change the folder or switch to "Always ask me..." below}
- "Always ask me where to save files"
- See --> Options window - General panel
