I have just updated my Java to 1.7 on Mac OS X Lion, which is 1.6.0_29.

Using JRE version 1.6.0_29-b11-402-11M3527 Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM

I am running FireFox 8.0 and after that I cannot reload a page with an applet on it without Firefox crashing?

I have tried to reinstall FireFox 8 and even the Aurora version with the same result. The new Java update works fine in Chrome, for instance.

We're working on a solution to this. If you need Java functionality, you can download and run Aurora, which has the fix we're testing, from here http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/channel
