Is there a quick and easy way to put 300+ bookmarks into folders?
So, stupid me, I've bookmarked some 300+ sites/pages I want to keep track of but instead of putting them into folders (for like sites) when I originally bookmarked them, I simply bookmarked them. So now when I want to find one of them I have to scroll all through these 300+ bookmarks until I fins the one I want. Now I've created a few folders but how do I quickly get each of these "random" bookmarks into the new folders I've created without having to scroll down the 300+ bookmarks until I find one which goes into a particular folder. I guess what I'm asking is can I start at the top of the list, somehow click on it and then tell it which folder I want it to go into? Also, how do I drag a particular folder to my desktop so I can have quick access to the folders bookmarks out on my desktop. Thanks.

Have you discovered the Bookmarks Organizer?
Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
or Ctrl+Shift+b
First click Bookmarks menu. Then type a word or two into the search box at the upper right to filter the bookmarks to a short list. Then you can multi-select the ones you want with Ctrl+Click and drag them to the desired folder. Hopefully that will save time?
Regarding a desktop shortcut, no, Firefox's bookmarks are stored in a database file that doesn't display as folders. Perhaps there is an add-on to create IE-like Favorites from one of your folders?
You can only use this extension to share bookmarks with IE.
- Plain old favorites: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/plainoldfavorites/
If you need to move a lot of bookmarks then it is usually better to use cut & paste via the right-click context menu instead of dragging.
