I had uninstalled firefox because I was having freezing problems and would have to do a hard boot atleast once a day. Each time I try to download Firefox 12 from the official mozilla website the download extensions reads from mozilla.cnd.leaseweb.com or mozilla.isu.net.sa or mozilla.voscdn.ck something from utah.edu I was warned this could be harmful to my computer. I am on the Mozilla offical site, How do I know that this safe and the correct way to download your product.

Mozilla uses download mirrors around the globe for server load balancing.

I am unsure of what mirrors and server load balance is. Is this the only way to download Mozilla and is it safe?

Also, prior to uninstalling my Mozilla it was freezing atleast once a day, has this been fixed in recent updates?

A mirror is an official copy.
See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mirror_%28computing%29
Your should only install a version when the computer is on the official mirror list.
Load balancing means that you use a lot of computers to do the work that would be too mutch for one computer to handle. So it is a division of work.
When the computer is on the mirrorlist then your download should be safe.
For example when I download Firefox I get a copy from a local computer in my own country, the University of Twente mirror.
I do not know why your computer is freezing or if this is fixed, maybe you should just try it out.
