All my passwords have vanished

For no apparent reason and absolutely not as a result of anything I did, all my saved passwords have disappeared.

I copied the appropriate files into a new profile, which is the only "solution" I have found here on site, but that doesn't work because the passwords have gone.

Any ideas or helpful suggestions please?

This can happen if the files signons.sqlite and key3.db that store the passwords and the encryption key get corrupted.

Any luck with trying to restore a previous version of the two files?

(make a backup copy of the current files)

Unfortunately, there are no previous versions of the two files, so no, no luck there, but thanks for the suggestion.
