setting ui.submenudelay to 500 (not 0) will not stay when I close FF. What do I need to do to keep my setting?

Since upgrading to 25.0.1 my ui.submenudelay setting was changed back to 0. I had it set to 500. When I go into about:config and change it back to 500 the bookmark submenus act like I want as long as I don't close Firefox. As soon as I close FF, the ui.submenudelay setting reverts back to 0. Why can't I save my settings in about:config and how do I save my settings now?

Thanks for the info. I'll try your suggestion as soon as I have time.

Note that your System Details List shows that you have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize some prefs on each start of Firefox.

The user.js file is only present if you or other software has created it, so normally it wouldn't be there. you can check its content with a plain text editor if you didn't create this file yourself.

The user.js file is read each time you start Firefox and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

Cor-el: Thanks for that info. I decided to uninstall and re-install FF. I had saved a backup of all my bookmarks, settings etc using FEBE so I was able to get all my settings, bookmarks, etc back and the ui.submenudelay to 500 like I like...however, I can not get the screen size to remain like I like. I have the Add-On Bar checked under tool to be able to place things like NoScript and Adblock Plus in the Add-On Bar, however when I close FF and reopen it the Add-On Bar is below the taskbar on my Windows 7 machine. If I click on the Maximize button at the upper right, then the Add-On Bar becomes visible. Once I close FF and reopen it, the Add-On Bar is once again below the visible part of the screen. I've even tried resizing the FF window but it reverts back the next time I open FF. Is there a setting in Prefs.js that will fix this or is there a setting in About:Config that I need to change?
