no response when clear cache
Every time I clear cache or history, etc., there's no feedback showing it's been done. i don't know how long to wait before doing whatever I want to do next. Are you getting feedback when you clear cache or history?

If there is still disk activity then Firefox might still be clearing the cache.
You could try to open the about:cache to check the current usage of the disk and memory cache to confirm that the cache has been cleared.

I'm not a Firefox expert. But I think when the Clear All History dialog window goes away, it's finished.
Try waiting something like 6 months before you clear any cache/history. Then when you clear it, you'll notice that the window stays open longer (than if you clear it daily or weekly).
