Spellcheck does not seem to function?

Although there is a tick by check spelling while you are writing (under options) it doesn't function. Furthermore when I click the spelling icon in the tool bar a menu opens but it also doesn't perform any function.

Soluzione scelta

in the compose are of an email, right click in the body and select Language and make sure a language is actually selected.
