I'd like to hide or disable Close button (or make it act like Minimise)

I want to make it harder to close Firefox. I am used to hitting Close when I finish what I'm doing. But I have recently started to let Firefox save passwords. Each time I start Firefox it asks for the master password. I'd like to avoid this by letting it remain open but hidden. Old habits die hard, and I doubt if I will learn not to hit Close rather than minimise. It would also help if the X to close a tab did not appear when there is only one tab open, as hitting that is another way of closing Firefox by accident.

I have come across an add-in for Outlook that makes the Close button minimize instead of closing. (Keepoutlookrunning). I wonder if that could be adapted to work for Firefox as well.

As a side issue, when I start Firefox the request for master password does not come up immediately. So, forgetting that the request will appear, I start typing in the address or search bar. Suddenly the request appears, and what I am typing goes into its password field instead of where I was typing. I think it would br better if the request did not move focus to itself.

Firefox will ask for the master password the first time it needs to access the Password Manager (input form on web page; Sync).

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for what you want.

Thanks. Unfortunately I already tried that, and didn't find anything. I did find one whose description implied that it did what I wanted. I tried it, but it did not do the trick. I think it was written for an ancient version of FF. Maybe things have changed so much that it no longer works

Use this link and ask questions. I don't know if they can help. https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons

Thanks to both.

MasterPassword+ works great for me. I now get the password request at a much more convenient time. This makes it less important to keep FF open, but I'll still ask at that discourse address.

By the way I have found a setting in about:config that stops FireBox being closed when hitting the X in the last remaining tab.
