Firefox prevents my Windows 10 to Sleep

I am using FF 66.0.3 on Windows 10. When the browser is open, windows CAN NOT SLEEP. Tried this several times (of course nothing downloading). This is happening with earlier versions too.

I frequently put Windows 10 to sleep with Firefox open and have no issues.

Try it will running Firefox Safe Mode. It's possible that an extension is trying to keep Windows awake.

If that doesn't help, try doing it with only 1 tab open to the new tab page.

I can put my windows to sleep. What does not function properly is "timed sleep".

That sounds like a Windows Power management issue.

I tired several fixes. Again, if FF is opne, NO SLEEP, if i close the browser, my PC goes to sleep after a while. Thanks for the effort, but until now no solution :-(

What fixes did you try? If the computer can go to sleep after the browser is close that would mean there is something installed in the browser that is telling the power management to stay "on". And that could range from Addons problem or malware acting addon telling the power management to stay "on". I can leave mine one with FF, Chrome with sessions loaded in each and within the Power management it will put the computer to sleep.
