Twice now i've installed, used Firefox-then it disappears from my iMac. What is happening?

I downloaded Firefox, used it to access internet, synced it and about 24 hrs later that it was no where to be found on my iMac. I downloaded it again, used it and about 2 days later i've found it gone. I have not downloaded it again. What is happening here?

Where are you downloading it from please ?

Have you tried from here : https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

Two possibilities. Either you did not install Firefox properly or you have a software or such that reverts your system to an earlier state.
