The forward and backward buttons have no functionality.
Whenever I open a page and click on a link from the page, I can no longer access the forward and backward buttons since my upgrade to Firefox 4. There buttons are completely greyed out and have no functionality. The only thing I can think is to uninstall the software and load an older version which I would rather not do. I will not use Firefox if this issue is not resolved. I am a student and not being able to go backwards and forward on pages is very inconvenient. I would appreciate any guidance possible.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
