When I click on an e-mail attachment (mine or someone else), Text Edit is the default format to view the message. I want Word to be the default format instead. How do I change this setting?

Hello,

Go to Menu bar(Press F10 or Alt to unhide), click on Tools >> Preferences >> Applications >> look to .txt .doc, texts files, etc... change the action to open with Microsoft Word

What is presented as the default application is likely a setting that is made system wide.

You would fist have to determine which MIME type(s) or file extension(s) is/are involved, so you know what to look for.
