I've used Firefox for many years. Now when I try to download a new version I can't just get FF, but it automatically includes a downloading program, which tacks on 6-8 extra programs that are not wanted. Now it also says my download files are corrupted. I do try to keep out malware but this really makes it very hard to just get straight browsers. Is there a way to just download Firefox without all the other stuff?

Firefox any version for any OS from www.mozilla.org has never come with any added software, toolbars or junk.

The stub version is normally served on mozilla.org for Windows so you may want the full setup from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

What site are you downloading from as some have been known to add extra junk to otherwise clean applications like download .com aka cnet has done with their own installer for example.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
