This is driving me mad.

I have tried every suggestion from what seems like everywhere to remove this pesky thing...but still it remains. From uninstalling it from Control Panel (it's not there) ...uninstalling it from Add-ons/Plug-ins/Extensions (not showing there either) ...to using Bit Defender...Malwarebytes...and now (finally) Spy Hunter 4. Have also tried resetting Firefox to default. Absolutely nothing works. Is this programme now resilient to every attempt to remove it?

Chosen solution

It seems that Adblock Plus has removed it Cory ...am 'cautiously optimistic'! . From a layman's point of view, so many of these intrusive programs do not show up in Control Panel or as an add-on/extension etc.

What a shame they can't be prosecuted under international law...
Thank you so much for your help

Hello,

Can you explain exactly what is happening?

If when you open Firefox, it is going to an AdChoice site, check to see if your shortcut has been tampered with. Right click on your Firefox shortcut and select Properties. Check the target line under the Shortcut tab for any web pages after the "firefox.exe".

Please see Wrong home page opens when I start Firefox - How to fix for more information.

For other popups, try using extensions such as Adblock Plus

If your computer is still infected, try posting in a forum specializing in malware removal:

No Cory...I don't get an immediate AdChoices page. Apart from 'me-related' ads popping up just about everywhere in Firefox, it is more specific in Outlook where it is at the foot of each and every page in what appears to be a link form - i.e. their logo and what appears to be a Microsoft endorsement (although I haven't tried to follow this yet).

Either way, will try everything you suggest and report back.
  Thank you for your interest.

I am wondering if that is Microsoft AdChoices:

You can try adblocking extensions such as Adblock Plus to see if that blocks a lot of the advertisements you see.
