So you are saying, links in emails do not open in a browser.

You have to set the browser as default on your computer. See info:

Also check here: in thunderbird 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Attachments' > 'Incoming' tab or 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Attachments' > 'Incoming' tab

Under 'Content type' : Look for HTML document and set the 'Action' 'Use Chrome' click on OK
