Since the latest Firefox updates I cannot view videos on 'calgary.ctvnews.ca' . Firefox indicates that Adobe Flashplayer has to be updated and offers to download it. but Flashplayer is up-to-date and the new install does not help. Internet Explorer works fine as do earlier Firefox versions. Any suggestions?

Your system details list doesn't show the Shockwave Flash plugin as installed and enabled.

  • Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Plugins

You can find links of the latest Shockwave Flash player for Firefox on this page:

You can verify on the Adobe Flash Players Test Page that the Flash plugin is working and which version you have.

For Windows the Flash Player is at version 21.0.0.213 since April 7.

The previous version 21.0.0.197 and older is on blocklist for click to play soft blocking due to critical vulnerabilities.

Check to see you do not have two or versions of Flash Player installed.

I did have the most up-to-date version of Flash Player (21.0.0.213) installed on my system. However, when the Firefox update (41.01) occurred, it did flag this (actually the Shockwave Player 12.2.4.194) in Tools -> Add-Ons -> Plugins as "Never Activate". Resetting this solved my problem. Thank you.
