I use Thunderbird for a POP3 account. When I use my desktop computer, the emails are deleted from my ISP email account. When using other computers, I use webmail to access my email. many times when using the desktop PC, I only want to read the previously downloaded email and not download new email (that would prevent me from reading the email when using webmail from other computers). When I just read email on the desktop PC, I don't enter the email account password. This satisfies my needs. However, because I am not signed-in to Thunderbird, I receive pop-up windows the urge me to enter my password, I click on the CANCEL button in the pop-up and continue reading the email. Is there parameter I can change to lengthen the time interval between the pop-up box displays?

Chosen solution

Change Thunderbird state would be a better approach.

Down the bottom left are two blue monitors. Click them to go offline. Click them to go online again.

I clicked to go offline. When I pass the cursor over the symbols, the message "You are currently offline" appears. I'm still prompted for the password.
