I have access to three e-mail accounts and today two of them when attempting to get my mail tell me the current operation in Inbox did not succeed - the mail server for account.......responded (serverbu) internal error occurred. However if I access the same account from my Smart phone, I see all mails received on the two accounts. Any suggestion to solve this problem Thank you.

Tell your mail provider. Copy the error message to them. They will tell you everything is ok, but if enough of their users report this they might take action. It may get better by itself. They might reboot the affected server or routers.

Do the phone and Thunderbird use identical settings for the affected accounts?

Both phone and thunderbird use identical settings for the affected accounts. Closing down my computer, two MS updates occurred, when rebooted I was now able to receive mail to one of the two accounts but now It keeps telling me the same message when I attempt to send mail, however it sends it since I received to my account which is not troublesome.
