Firefox will not run in safe mode or at all. It always crashes on startup. Only options are to restart or quit. Removed and installed newest version, also removed the Mozilla folder for a clean install.

I have a crash id of: "Crash ID: bp-ca5fccb4-05b3-4121-9269-a85f42160913"

hi screamn7, thanks for providing a crash report id. we have seen quite a number of similar reports about this issue in the last hours and this issue is likely caused by your symantec security software that is hooking into firefox (probably through a program/signature update done by them). other users reported that updating firefox in this situation helped with the crashes. you can download & install the latest firefox from https://download.mozilla.org/?product=firefox-48.0.2-sha1&os=win&lang=en-US

O.k. i uninstalled using Revo uninstaller, including removing some Firefox registry entries. Deleted the Mozilla Folder in the Program files(x86) folder. I also deleted hidden Mozilla folders in the User/Appdata/Roaming and local folders. Restarted, and installed the latest version and still the same result. in addition, i disabled Norton firewall and auto protect. I was using an older version in the beginning, but downloaded the newest version and I am having problems it seems no matter what version is running. Are you sure it is Norton and not something else?

yes, i am very sure about that - please use the download link that i've provided and not the one on the main mozilla page, since you will end up with crashing firefox 43.0.1 using that...

I just tried something. And it worked. I am running Win Vista 64bit. Started the PC using f8 into safe mode with networking. Was able to start Mozilla while PC was in safe mode. From there, went in and disabled all plug ins. It showed that I had no extensions. Restarted and it crashes. Not sure why this is happening.
