The only backup that Firefox makes on its own is the Bookmarks Folder. Please give details on what an when you want to clean out.

Delete recent history was a bit misleading for me as a title but ok, now I know it doesnt actually mean that as you have to select all, last hour etc... When I saw "all" I thought it meant all the recent data as everything in my list was crossed.. but hey my bad.
