I have a Mac that only accepts operating systems up to OS X 10.7.5. Which Firefox version should I use, 45.9 ESR or regular 48.2?

Hoped to upgrade Firefox, my favorite internet browser for years, but my 2009 Mac Pro won't take Apple's OS X beyond 10.7.5, and Firefox doesn't allow me to upgrade after v48.2. I came across the ESR version 45.9, downloaded it, and now don't know which version I should actually use - 48.2 or the ESR version. Halp! Thanks.

You should use 45.9 ESR as it is more update and has more security fixes, then 48.2.

That is not true. Firefox 45.9.0 ESR got released at the same time as Firefox 53 (April 19, 2017) and thus has more security fixes than the Firefox 48 version that is vulnerable to all security issues that were fixed in Firefox 49 and later.
