Some pictures and embedded videos on dailymail.co.uk show partially as I scroll but flash to a blank before all of the picture is exposed. Most of the pictures show properly. I have add HTML 5 and Flash Plugin but neither make any difference. I have Firefox updated. I have tried many changes but none make any difference.

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Did this fix the problem? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

"Reset" did NOT fix my problem. I also disabled all addons but that did not fix my problem either. I believe it must be the graphics board. I upgraded the graphics board to an ASUS GTX550Ti in order to run Google Earth upgrade and still be able to open an MSDOS window in "full screen" mode. Bottom line, Dailymail.co.uk is using a new graphics format on some of the images (not all) that my computer does not support. I will just use a different computer if I desire to see all of the images. It is strange that the picture will appear when half is exposed but flashes to blank as the page is scrolled.

What kind of images are that?

Note that some animated images might actually be MP4 files that you can't play on Windows XP because it lacks native support for much media type files. You might first see a preview image.

You can check the Web Console (Tools -> Web Developer) for messages about blocked content.

Yes, the Web Console (Tools-> Web Developer) shows that MP4 files on the web page were present but could NOT be decoded. I could NOT find a plugin to help run MP4 files. A recommended plugin, if available, would be appreciated.
