You can use Firefox on a single device whether it be desktop Firefox on Windows, Mac OSX, Linux or mobile Firefox versions on iOS and Android.

You do not need to create a Firefox Account in order to use Firefox on a single or multiple devices. The main reason why one may create a Firefox account is for to Sync information between Firefox on say two devices.
