Just upgraded to TB68 on my W7 PC; my profile is not coming up; how do I migrate my profile to TB68?
I'm only moderately technical (mostly not), and I'm still on Windows 7 because of some software I need (long story). I just upgraded to TB68, and when I opened it, my profile was nowhere to be found. I really don't want to recreate everything if I don't have to, but how do I get TB68 to use my old profile? And again, please tell me in baby steps. Thanks.

Select Help/Troubleshooting Information, click about:profiles. Besides the profile in use, is there another one listed? If there is, and you select 'Launch profile in new browser', does your old profile appear?
No, I get the "You have launched an older version of Thunderbird" message
I've re-activated my email files. right now, I'd just love to get my address book back--any thoughts? Thanks!

How do you get this error if you've updated to TB 68? How many versions are installed on your system?
Open this location in Explorer:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles
AppData is hidden by default.
What are the names of the subfolders in Profiles. There should be at least one ending in .default.
8rfqoa8x.default wijzn8f3.default-release 2pw5wdyz.default-release-1
The last is the default that TB68 is using.
Try this: close TB, press Windows key+R, type thunderbird.exe -p Select 8rfqoa8x.default Does TB open with your original data? If that doesn't work, but you want to copy the address books from 8rfqoa8x.default to 2pw5wdyz.default-release-1, copy abook.mab (Personal Address Book) and history.mab (Collected Addresses) from one profile to the other, as long as you don't have any address books in 2pw5wdyz.default-release-1 you need to keep.
