Please help - after installing the new version of Thunderbird 68 my previous profile is not compatible. I am currently backing up my profile with Mozbackup and trying to revert back to an old version, hopefully that will restore everything.

My issue is that I can add all my emails again as all on IMAP but Two of my emails are no longer in use but I needed all the folders as I had to move all the emails over. I cant add these as domains for this no longer exist so I just want to restore back to the way it was.

I am hoping this works but if and when I do decide to update to 68 can you easily migrate the profile over or is the old one no longer compatible?

Chosen solution

1. Do not use mozbackup. It is broken according tto the guy who wrote it.

2. This will probably do it. Going backwards is not a good idea. https://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.com/2019/09/i-lost-my-profilemail-on-update-to.html

Thanks so much, you saved my A*%

Had 50GB backup file and so many emails to configure. This worked a treat.

Have a great life!
