Calendar Events/tasks Disappearing

Recently I've begun noticing calendar events or tasks that I had previously set up, and had been that way for several years, have begun disappearing from the calendar. Just today, events that were there two days ago, were gone today. This has happened at least 10 or more times in the last month or so, maybe longer. Each time I notice they are missing, I create a new event to replace the missing event. It's gotten to the point I can't trust that the calendar is accurate at providing reminders. Anyone got an answer that I just haven't found?

This is continuing. Even new events disappear the day they are set for

I'm having similar problems. My events haven't disappeared altogether, but edits to them disappear. Posted here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1318876

I wonder if edits are being written to a different folder or file, and Thunderbird is not consistently accessing the same files? What else could explain this?

My events disappear completely, even under version 78.8. I've used the calendar for years with no issues for reminders. I've yet to figure anything out. About 2 days out from the scheduled event it disappears! I can no longer trust this product, especially since we can get no "official" help from mozilla on this issue.

I'm concerned there is another bug which is quite specific and I'm trying to get information from the community.

Has anyone noticed if the Event seems to get deleted if one of the following occurs:

  • You get a pop up reminder and you select to dismiss
  • You get pop up reminder and you just close pop up without selecting anything
  • You get a pop up reminder which you ignore, leave visible and exit Thunderbird.

If you get a pop up reminder and make any other selection like snooze for a day and it deletes the event - I need to know.

If you have any information, please report what OS you use, what version of Thunderbird, whether it is portable version or not. What you selected with that pop up reminder. Whether this is just Lightning home calendar or whether you are using CalDav etc.
